WndTabs is a phenomenal piece of work. Oz has dug into the guts
of Developer Studio to implement functionality Microsoft should
have implemented in the first place. More impressive is the fact
that his reliance on functions exposed by DevStudio is minimal.
He did it all himself!
WndTabs creates a tab control showing all open files. It looks
like the file tabs belong in DevStudio.
Oz has also created many reusable components for use in WndTabs
and other projects, too.
CvsIn is an add-in designed to implement CVS functionality in
Developer Studio. Thus far, CvsIn looks really good, and its second
iteration is even better.
Exuberant Ctags is one of the major reasons Workspace Whiz! exists.
Exuberant Ctags has an incredibly fast C, C++, and Java parser,
among other things. Workspace Whiz depends on Exuberant Ctags
for its list of tags.
After searching high and low for a documentation solution for
Workspace Whiz! (and other products), Doxygen was found. Doxygen
is free, comes with full source code, and is well supported. It
is, hands down, the best documentation tool I have ever come across.
I've had the pleasure of using the scripting language, Lua, for
years. It is a super powerful, embeddable, ANSI C compliant language
that supports cool stuff like dynamic data description (like XML,
but before its time), dictionaries, and a whole lot more.
For past versions of Workspace Whiz, Wise Solutions generously
donated InstallMaster to serve as Workspace
Whiz!'s primary installer. This has saved countless hours
of time during the development of Workspace
Whiz! and has allowed automated installations for end users.
However, the version of InstallMaster they donated has become
dated. These days, Workspace Whiz uses Inno
Setup.
I had the great pleasure making games with Chris Nash at Engineering
Animation, Inc. He is a great guy, and he makes a great website.
Stop by, if you get the chance.
